I was running DNN 4.05 and attempted to upload/Install the Events Module 4.0 and now non of my Existing Events modules on our site work.  I get a Module failed to load error.  What should I do?

At this point, I can't even insert a new event module in an existing page? Any thoughts?
Mike

Hi Mike,

What version of DNN are you using? V4.05 isn't a complete version number, DNN versions should be something along the lines of 4.5.5. The same is true of the Events module, should be something like 4.0.2 (or 04.00.02).

I am assuming you did an upgrade of the events module. If so, from what version, and are you 100% sure the upgrade ran successfully?

Also, it would help if you could post the error from your event log, so we can see what sort of issue you are having.

Thanks
Roger

Hey Roger,

The version of DNN is 04.05.03.  The version of the Events module I had before the Install new module attempt is 03.03.07, and I was attempting to go to 04.00.02.

I wasn't sure if I should Install New Module or edit the existing one.  I did Install new module from the Module Definitions page.

I hope this helps shed light on my problem,
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

That identifies the problem exactly. The minimum version Events 4.0.2 works on is DNN 4.5.5. You will need to revert to Events 3.3.7 (or 3.3.8) by restoring to your database backup. Or upgrade to at least DNN 4.5.5. I would recommend you upgrade DNN, since there are many, many fixes (including security fixes). The latest 4.x release is DNN 4.9.1.

Cheers
Roger

Hey Roger,

Thanks for your help.  Just so I am clear, is the correct way to install a module that is technically an upgrade, would it be to 'Install new module', from the Module definitions page, or would it be to edit the existing module in some way?

Thanks again for your help,
Michael
