Community -

I'm trying to find out if the error in this thread was fixed in 4.9.1.

Quick Desc.
In 4.9.0 there is a bug in user profile, specifically when using the Rich Text Editor, that double encodes the html. The Biography field is a good example.

The Test.
If you have a 4.9.1 installation, go into a user account and fill in the Biography field with some rich text, and update the profile. Go to another page and then revisit the same user profile. Do you see HTML markup in the RTE? Post your result back here.

Gemini
The issue in Gemini states it was fixed for DNN v.5.0. What I'd like to know, and didn't get any response in the thread linked above, is whether that fix was backported to 4.9.1.

Thanks for any assistance!!

Make sure you are using the latest FCKEditor and also consider upgrading to 4.9.2 (when it's out.... soon) or or 5.0.1(when that is out).

If it does not work after that it's unlikely to be fixed for the 4.x platform.
Do not upgrade to DNN 5.0.0 (wait for 5.0.1)

Thanks

Alex

Time is not on my side. I can upgrade to 4.9.1 if I have to (or 4.9.2 if that comes out very, very soon) IF the issue is resolved. Waiting for 5.0.1 or upgrading to 5.0 is not an option. All my 4 >> 5 upgrades were not smooth. And the problem isn't with the provider, but with the profile code.

This is why I'm shouting out to those in the community who have 4.9.1, to see if this was resolved. Since the mothership is dogfooding 4.9.2, I tried it out and it seemed to be fixed. I'm not inclined to wait until the 4.9.2 release.

Thanks

I would still attempt to upgrade FCK Editor first and see if it makes any difference (latest version is hopefully on codeplex).
I can confirm it works in a virgin 4.9.2 installation and I would strongly recommend waiting out for it.

I updated the FCK provider and this did not fix the problem.

Thanks for the help Alex. Can anyone confirm if it was fixed in 4.9.1?
