I believe you do have to drop the control on a tab and then turn on SSL for that tab after you've enabled SSL for the website itself. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong on this.

This is how I set all of mine up:

To create a secured login page this is what I did:

  • Create a page (mine is under my Home page)
    • Not included in menu
    • view permissions to  unauthenticated users
    • SSL enabled
  • Add an Account Login module to this page
  • In the Site Settings>Advanced Setting, change your login page from Not Specified to your new login page
  • In Admin>Site Settings/Advanced Settings/SSL Settings. Make sure that the SSL Enforced is checked.

That's it. To access this page once created, and admin will need to do so through the Admin>Pages tab.

CSmith,

Yeah, that's exactly the way it should be done and that's exactly what I did.
Sanjay, yes, you were also right, the two login links were due to the skin.
However, it looks like there's no way to tweak the default login control to go thru SSL and what Sebastian and CSmith have outlined is the only way that exists in DNN to login thru SSL. Am I right ?

I believe I was saying the same thing as CSmith and Sebastian :) - yes this should be the "right" way to do this....
