Hi,
My requirements are very similar to what localization offers, so I'm hoping someone can guide me in the right direction. I have an existing DNN 4.8.1 portal. For about 5 pages in the portal, we need to display one of three versions of the content (TEXT/HTML) based upon the visitor's selection in a "region" drop down list (similar to a language selector). All other pages in the site will remain as is, however these 5 pages will need to have two new versions added by the admin. There is a further SEO requirement that all pages with versions have unique URLs based upon the region selected.

I have thought of two approaches; one is to use localization with three language packs (all the same language). Is there a way to have the non-versioned pages always show a single version or will the admin have to populate duplicate versions of content for every single page in the portal? Also, will the SEO requirement be satisfied for the versioned pages?

The second approach is to create two child portals and completely duplicate all the content in each new child portal. This is onerous, however will certainly satisfy the SEO requirement.

Thoughts?

sorry, but this cannot be achieved using the localization features, due to languages are bound to system language keys.

you might achieve it using UserDefined table using a filter based on the reagion, which might be specified as a user profile property, but this will not support SEO.  UDT 5 also allows to filter based on querystring params, however you will still need to find an option to inject the region code as a URL param.
