Hi,

I have something I would like to do but I'm not sure how to do it.   Depending on the keywords used, some users might get a link From Google that points to the Terms or Privacy pages of my website.  However I don't want that to happen.  Instead I would always like them to land on the Home page.  Terms and Privacy pages are not important for me.  Is there a way I could do a redirect for those pages so that whenever someone finds them on google, if they click on it, they will be presented the home page.  I have already removed the links from the skin file so the links to Terms or Privacy do not show on my site.

thanks.

the solution isjust the other way round: make sure, that the home page ranks higher in Google for all typical search words than Terms of use. There are numerous SEO tutorials in the net, make sure to use the google site map and properly use metadata.

Mark - you don't want the Terms and Privacy pages indexed by search engines in the first place. Simply disallow these pages in robots.txt.

Thank you very much for both replies.  Tom I did create a Robot.txt.  I am very new to this and I did not know about that. below is the content of my Robot.txt file and I think it is fine.  I have also requested Google to remove the URL to Terms and Privacy in their cache using my Webmaster'S tool in my Google Account.

To reply to Sebastian, I think if I want to change the priority of the pages, I must create another sitemap file.  I have to read more about this. I user DNN version 4.9 and All pages have the same priority in the sitemap file that is dynamically created by DNN.  If you have a solution to this I would greatly appreciate if you could give me some directions.

Best Regards and thanks to both of you.

What a great tip!  Additionally, an issue was submitted to Gemini to help with this issue specifically.
