We first saw this problem on a new installation earlier this week while we were demoing DNN to a client.

After adding a page, go into settings - advanced - other and change Link URL to File (A File On your Site) and choose a file (pdf in this case).  Now clicking that page in the menu will result in a Redirect Loop error.

We have a client who's site we updated to 4.9.2 from 4.8.3.  They used file links in the menu on several portals.  These links all now result in redireck loop errors.

Is there a fix for this?

Workaround:  if files are in unsecure folders, you may use a relative path on your site /portals/0/myfile.txt.

Please log the issue into the public issue tracker (2nd from top) if it's not already listed in topmost core tracker.
