 Guys,

I have a DNN site which was under development. We have now completed everything and now its time for the site to go live. Can any expert here tell me from scratch what things are to be done for putting DNN site from dev environment to production. Is there something like a checklist document that i need to have for this task?

Thanks a lot !!!

Mrunal

Mrunal, here's a quick list off the top of my head.

1. Configure your portal alias for the Production URL

2. Use Engage: F3 (it's free) to search through your Text/HTML content for any direct links to the development URL, you can use the search/replace functionality to replace the links with your production URL

3. Backup your database and files

4. Restore those files on your production server

5. Configure the file permissions

6. Configure the database permissions

7. Configure IIS

8. Fire up a browser and see if it works! :D

I think that covers most scenarios.
