Installing portal (project) on another machine where DNN all ready installed

Hello ladies and gents!

Problem accrued:

We have: 1 home station and 1 laptop

On both machines installed DNN 4x

On home station was developed a project (site)

Is it possible to drop project on laptop and run it there?

I’ve tried to copy web site files to laptop website directory and run it there

I’ve received a warning that database is not connected ?

[ASAMBLEY]  la la la ;)

Can any one help me to do it the proper way!?

Thanx in advance ;)

You need to change your cookie information in the web.config file, or the two dnn installs will collide.  See the ASPXANONYMOUS and ASPXROLES cookies and also there's one more, called DOTNETNUKE in all caps.  If you change the cookie names so they're unique (for each app), you should be okay.  Also, this is a stupid answer, but ya never know...make sure you put each DNN app in a different virtual directory!

Hope this helps.
