HI Dnn team,

Pretty new to DNN ,have created a small site and was trying to link AD to it.

Followed the initial steps

1. Installed DNN5.0.1 and the AD provider(5.0.1)

2.Made changes to the settings to reflect our domain and the update is successful.it is able to find the Global Catalog.

3.made authentication changes to the windowssignin.aspx file. and then please find the results

Results

a) I was able to login once to the site with the Domain Admin Credentials and with my credentials.

b) i am also able to login if i give http://test01/DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory/Windowssignin.aspx

But if i browse to the default home page http://test01 and choose windows login, type in the credentials with either one of the following

DOMAIN\Username or

Username , i am not able to login and the error is

"Login Failed. Please remember that passwords are case sensitive"

Just one more thing my username is Firstname.Lastname.Does the specialcharacter "." have to do something

Please help

Thanks

Have you been able to resolve this?  You may want to move this posting to the Authentication Forum.  You'll have better luck there.

I was looking around for an unrelated AD problem earlier and found that there is, in fact, a bug in the current authorization provider (not with the AD provider).  It is related to DNN-1820.  It will be fixed in the next update to the authentication provider.
