I have the nifty video skin playing an intro 799kb file that I uploaded with the browse option at http://66.35.109.171/Home/EnergyMediaStudio/tabid/54/Default.aspx

I tryed to just put in the streaming address form the show like this in the file box
http://XX.XXX.XXX.16/inthepipeline.asf

but that did not work, also tried

http://www.inthepipeline.tv/inthepipelineXXXX-XX.wmv

this did not work either any suggestions on what else I could try, these shows run 30 minutes and are around 30mb files so I just want to link to them if possible.

If you want to link to files on another server you'll have to edit the form.html. You'll need to change [DNNLABEL:Filename] to [DNNLABLE:URL] and [FILE] to [URL]. If you look at the form.html for the Directory template you'll see what I mean.

That said, and I don't want to sound preachy, linking to files on somebody else's website without their permission is frowned upon. They may end up paying the costs that your users generate in bandwidth usage.

Hey Mike thanks alot for answering this.  You are absolutely right about linking to someone elses video and using their bandwidth.  These shows belong to us,  this is our DNN site at the IP at portalwebhosting.com and then our own server downtown hosting and streaming the videos at inthepipeline.tv.

Hi Steve,

You mention that you should edit the 'portfolio' template in order to have this option work (which is an awesome idea).  What file needs to be edited to do this. There are lots of files around with DNN and I want to make sure I edit the correct on

TIA
