I'm not sure if this is related to Sean's problem or not, but I have noticed that in 5.01 a user with a custom role cannot edit a module unless the modules container is visible.

That was it, i didn't think to mention that I'd made the container invisible. Top marks to you jastos - that was the solution!

Great, you figured it out.

please log the issue into the public issue tracker (2nd from top) at support.dotnetnuke.com, to ensure it will be looked at and fixed for next version.
