Just got my first site running and thought I'd take a look in Firefox and wow! My menus all appear in the top left corner - instead of anywhere near the menu itself. This is true of the menu used on the public site and the drop down menus on each module when in admin mode. Also the menu does look rather different in firefox... but how it looks is secondary for now since they don't work at all under Firefox.

Is there anything I can do about this?

Thanks,

I suggest you revisit that menu starting with using the skin.css that is closest to the colour of your menu.

If you are a novice, and want to have a fancy menu, get the coffee out, the matchsticks for under your eyes, and lots of trial and error, since customising the SolPart menu to a high level, is a challenge.

In my opinion, the simpler menu options work, and you'll find the basic menu provided with the default skins are a good place to start since they work from the beginning, instead of doing what I used to do - and I think thousands of others, copying and pasting from different places with  misinformation placed in all sorts of css files.

Get your menu in the skin.css file only,  not in the default or portal css files, and put a basic one in there for now and start making simple changes.

Then when you have specific issues you can't work out, you're able to nut out where they need to be.

Also, as a rule - I don't touch the module menu items.. they are all standard..

Hi Nina - that doesn't explain why my menu opens (only in Firefox) at the top/left corner of my screen whereas in IE it opens right by where the trigger point is. I'm not sure how to explain this clearly... I move my mouse over the menu and normall a sub-menu opens right where my mjouse is... but in Firefox this sub-menu opens in the top/left corner of my screen/window. This also happens for the module menus when I am building my pages - so I can't build them in firefox.

Oh and I haven't changed the menu it IS unchanged from a default skin, blue horizontal I think.

I would attach a pic but I'm not sure I can

Further... If it was something I'd written I'd be looking for a missing container which the menu uses as its reference point when determining position. I have changed the skin quite a lot, and might have removed a required container? But the menu definitions I didn't touch.

So has anyone managed to get the DNN 4.0.2 menus working under firefox? This is currently a show stopper for me - as I can't go live with something that doesn't work in Firefox.

Thanks,
