Hi all,

Here's the use case that I'd love your help thinking through. We are considering integrating DNN with SalesForce; it seem that this has only been done in small ways in the past.

Our use case is that specific users need to edit specific data common to a small group of users; for instance, Alice and Bob, both in the same team, need to be able to browse to a page that dynamically loads the correct set of fields and content for their team, and they both need to be able to view, edit and submit it multiple times. The catch is that the data is stored in salesforce, rather than in DNN.

This model assumes that DNN knows their unique SF id, as a byproduct of a field in the Users table that is updated by a Salesforce connector service. This model also assumes that there are many teams; upwards of 100, so hand-creating an individual page for each user/team is not a possibility.

Any ideas??

Thanks!

You are going to need something custom to get this done, but overall it shouldn't be that complex.  Salesforce has a great API and is farily easy to work with.

Now, I assume you already have the code in place for the setting of the SF user id and that type of thing?  If not, that again can be accomplished one of many ways, but shouldn't be much of an issue, it will just be something that you need to sit down with someone and discuss exactly how it works, and what you need/want it to be doing.

Feel free to drop me an e-mail msellers@iowacomputergurus.com if you are looking for consultants to work on this.
