Anyone who has used the Telerik controls know how great they are. The Menu from Telerik is the best menu provider option for Dotnetnuke.
Their editor which can be used as a replacement for DNNs text editor is almost there.
One thing it lacks is support for Donetnuke's File system.
So, if a user uploads photos into an HTML module, the editor doesn not respect the Dotnetnuke file permissions for what folders the user can write to.

Telerik said they will add full support for the Dotnetnuke file system if the community shows interest.
Please reply here if you would like to see this feature added or reply to this post if you alreay have an account on the telerik forums.

By default, uploaded images go to the images folder and you can't change it from within the text module.  What do you mean it doesn't support DNN's file system?

RadEditor handles the Dotnetnuke file permissions on file uploads but only for the folder specified in the path variables,

e.g. if you have set
imagesPaths = "portal\0"

then the editor will look for the permissions of the top folder, but for all sub folders the editor will not respect them and will apply only the permissions of the top folder.

This is interesting ... I did try the telerik edito 2 years ago when I had an account there but it was to slow .... how is it working now ? Can we be given a try to see on a demo page of yours and try to edit some? I would like to verify if it is as good in Explorer as in Firefox?

Brad,

I've been using Telerik's tools for a long time and have been asking for this as well...I have been unable to use their editor because it doesn't follow DNN File Security....I've added to the Telerik post in hopes that they will see it has a priority.

Jerry
