Hi,

i have just fresh installed the DotNetNuke 5.0.1 in my local machine. And when i am trying to open it Visual Studio through IIS by selscting Website from IIS and it closes the visual studio.

can any one plese tell me why its happening and how i can prevent to happening this.

There appears to be something wrong with your local configurtion. Check your firewall settings. You may also need to repair visual studio.
If you have no joy you should really be visiting the Microsoft forums as this really isn't a dotnetnuke issue.

Hi,

I faced this issue some time ago: when opening a WSP the IDE closed suddenly. I tried everything, but ended up uninstalling and reinstalling VS.

Thanks for your replies.

I have reinstalled the Visual Studio but still the problem remain same. When i am opening DotNetNuke website in VS2008 suddenly it closes the VS. Any suggestion please.

Yes check your firewall in case that's a problem and then pay a visit to the MS forums... sorry.
