Whatever you do, do NOT choose Godaddy to host a DNN site. Possible, yes, as guides and so forth point to here but not worth trying if your time and patience mean anything to you.
good luck, Will
GoDaddy gets plenty of bashing and often for good reason. I agree that GoDaddy is not a good choice if you're not experienced and comfortable with supporting your own DNN installations.
I have to respectfully disagree with Will's "whatever you do, do NOT choose GoDaddy" statement, though. I've spun up multiple DNN sites on GoDaddy over the past few years without issue. Most of the "DNN on GoDaddy" guides I've seen are, IMO, overly complex as they instruct the user to manually move an installation into the root directory. This certainly is a headache compared to providers that allow direct root installation.
However, most GoDaddy users have no compelling reason to move their DNN installations into the root folder. A couple of fairly easy steps will allow you to auto-install DNN through the GoDaddy management console and still run your site without having the installation folder name in your URL. This point has been so overlooked that I recently blogged the "how-to" steps to try to help people avoid the pain of manually moving a DNN instance into the root just to be rid of the subfolder name in their site's URL. See the "how-to" steps at the following link (hosted on GoDaddy, by the way):

Note that I have nothing against a root installtion on GoDaddy -- I currently have several sites running that way. Over time, though, I've learned that a root install is not necessary for most users once you know how to manipulate GoDaddy's domain settings to set a subfolder as the web app "root" folder. Using the auto-installer and changing a few settings gives you a prefectly fine DNN site on GoDaddy with very little extra effort over the "DNN friendly" hosting providers.
Unfortunately, you still can't expect GoDaddy to help you fix a broken DNN installation. I've used GoDaddy for some sites mainly because I like GoDaddy's prices, have never (knowingly) experienced unexpected downtime and....well, that's about it. Buyer beware.
Cheers!
