Can anyone point me to a web based tool that I can use to check the web server version of a host and more specifically what version of .NET it is running? I have a potential client that seems to be a great candidate for setting up dotnetnuke, but I don't know if they have 2.0 installed or not. I would love to play with the latest version, but I want to make sure they can install it before I take the time. Does have any idea how I can check this for this info on my own?

You are going to need more information that this. You will also need to know the database server as well. It may be in your best interest to contact the host or ask the client to investigate further.

Crispy's correct that youre best to check with your host, as they may have multiple versions of the .net framework installed, and could remap the extensions to the version you want, but you can check what version a site is mapped to currently via http://www.web-caching.com/showheaders.html as most servers will still show the .net version through the X-AspNet-Version header.
