Using DNN as Intranet application. How do I create links to File Servers Shares? Nothing I've tried works. The server path would be something like:

\\servername\folder\subfolder

I've tried all kinds of different ways and even using the HTML/TXT editor to create them manually and still with same result.

this is generally not possible in the internet. you might try to use file:/// prefix, to work for users within the network with same drive paths.

I have this working on my site!

If you add a link to a file server i.e (\\servername\share\file.doc) you can use the file:/// in front of the link. The trick is you have to switch the backslash to a forward slash to get it to work. So if you add a link like the one above you would add the following in the url:

file://///servername/share/file.doc

It would be nice if the links module had a browse button that would allow you to link to a file on a network share! This would make setting up DOtNetNuke as a intranet site very easy.

Just a thought.
