 Hi

I have created a module and i want to use that module as an authentication system in other web application.

I have successfully created a package of the module , but when I install the package as an authentication system into other web application by using

Host > Host Settings > Advanced Settings > Authentication Settings > Install new Authentication Package  , it gives me an error message regarding

Invalid File Extension

I have modified the .dnn file also by mentioning the type="Auth_System"

But still I am getting the error...

Any quick replies will be highly appreciable..

Thanks

Thanks & Regards -- Palli

Hello Everyone...

I have a small query , If anyone can answer :-

Is creating a simple dynamic module is similar in process of creating an Authetication package ?

OR

Is any custom Autehtication package is a simple dynamic module ?

Any suggestions please...

Thanks

Where in the process is it giving you the Invalid File Extension error? Do you have a file in the package that's not in the "Allowed File Extensions" list under the Host Settings?

Thanks for replying Mike..

Frankly speaking , I am new to DNN but let me try to explain the scenario so as you may provide some suggestions on the related topic :-

I have successfully created a Dynamic module and I was trying to install the module as an Authentication Package.

But when I reviewed the .dnn files of some other Authentication pages , I find there were lots of differences between the .dnn files of simple dynamic modules and Authentication packages. Because Authentication packages have only two to three .ascx controls (Login , LogOff and Settings) and also the Authentication Packages dont have the following files in the App_Code Folder :-

1. Info Class & Controller Class

2. DataProvider Class and SqlDataProvider Class.

Therefore I believe I am not following a right approach to create an Authentication Package.

Could you please suggest regarding  :-

1. The right approach to create an Authentication Package.

or any documentation links from where I can get some infomation on the related topic..

Your suggestions will be highly appreciable ..

Thanks
