As it looks like poor old Danielle and I are all alone. I thought I would update with what i saw yesterday and today.

It's nothing to do with paypal and its not a browser problem. i setup a oscommerce site today it works like a dream in IE8, Firefox and Opera; Paypal works perfectly as well, both live and sandbox.

Danielle. Give it up. Time is money. Go OSCommerce.

 Hi there

On my setup i changed both the verification and payment URL to be the same --- https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr/

That gets me to the right paypal page and the user see the cart and is asked for a CC number or to login.... good so far....

When i went through the sand box I put in an invalid card number and the error message was in german... so need to check that out because i'm in AU

Also, with these settings all purchases appear to be flagged as "awaiting shipment" in the store admin module even when no payment was done, so I would think the verification URL is probably wrong.

I have bought a simple PayPal Button module for quick/easy payments, it's verification URL is an ASPX module located in the desktopmodules/gumbosoft/verifyIPN.aspx on the my website (makes sense). (this is a good cheap quick module too, from gumbosoft)

So I checked the desktopmodules/store directory for a module that looks like it might be able to verify a postback from paypal - i couldn't find one, but that doesn't means it's not buried in the code somewhere ??? maybe you guys can find it...

Hope this helps

I've decided to look for another store/shop - i searched dotnetnuke marketplace under store and shop and found these

http://marketplace.dotnetnuke.com/p-540-smith-shopping-cart2.aspx  -- looks good only 99 dollars

http://marketplace.dotnetnuke.com/p-682-alicommerce-shopping-cart20.aspx - looks good too 195 dollars

http://marketplace.dotnetnuke.com/p-727-paypal-storefront21.aspx --- or this one at just 49 dollars

good luck fellows

Peter

Hi There again

I gave up on the DNN Store module and decide to go with Alicommerce. It's fantasic and works very nicely, has a terrific UI and is very well priced.

Up to 25 products is free - so easy to demostrate value to clients for upgrade, otherwise its 195 dollars which any shop should be able to afford or else maybe not be in business.

Some features i liked,  Can sell "files/downloads" or tangible products, very good payment gateways and lots of good retail stuff any fronline POS should have.

I like it so far and will continue to test.... will be rolling out 2 shops this week on it and see what happens....

best of luck guys...

PS. after you install the demo -- remember to restart application in host settings - it won't work otherwise

I too am having problems with the store.

Interestingly I have been using the store with PayPal for a number of years now and it has worked until now.  I also have a second store which is also having the same problem.

I am lost as to what it is.  My site hasn't changed so I can only assume it's something with PayPal.

Anyone else having issues or have a fix?

When is the new store module going to be released?  We have beta's one after another on the French site yet haven't had a new release in years.  I'm seriously considering moving to Active for my store and forums...the lack of movement on DNN modules is getting rediculous.
