Are they entering the usernames as Domain\username or just username (and you have the default domain name set in the settings)?

The whole strip domain name setting was never fully tested which is why it was hidden.

they're not entering anything, it's logging them in as soon as they hit the page, and it's writing to the user table with username.

I didn't realize it was never fully tested.  If that's the case, I'll deal with it storing the domain name.  This is way too much work for something that isn't that big of a deal.

We did have a few id's that were a little weird when we didn't have this strip setting in.  Is there any reason why some have to sign in with DOMAIN\username instead of domain\username ?  We have two different domains, one is a child of the other.  Wondered if that changed things somehow.

When I was asking about them logging in I mean after they'd logged out and couldn't log back in again.

I can't see any reason why it would care what case the domain name is in but I'll see if I can test it to make sure I haven't left something that shouldn't be case sensitive in the code. Do you ever run into the problem the other way (where they try to login with DOMAIN\username and it wants domain\username)?

Are both domains hitting the same portal? Just wondering if you chould set the default domain in the settings (in all caps) and then your users won't have to enter the domain at all.
