Hi Gavin

Looking at that, it's not pointing to the FlashMovie.swf file in the right folder for a start.

Also... if you want everyone to view the file (flash or anything)... then why are you trying to restrict it at the same time?

These movies are for registered users only...  I don't want a registered user watching the movie and then sending the link to thier buddy via URL, it should make the be logged in to be able to view it.  Its not referencing a folder at all, just the name of the movie...

The code i listed was not the complete html page, the html page works fine if my flashmovie.swf is sitting in the same dir as the html, it doesnt work it they are both in the secure FS, the names change to .resources in the actual physical folder..

Hi Gavin,

With a little more work, I think that you can circumvent the issue you are experiencing.  The current problem is that your HTML page is referencing the file FlashMovie.swf which, because it is secured, may no longer be directly accessed -- it may be accessed only through the DotNetNuke secure-URI named LinkClick.aspx.

You'll need to get a valid LinkClick.aspx URI for the SWF file.  There may be easier ways to do so, but one quick way is to create an instance of the Links module on a page somewhere, add the SWF file as a link, and then capture the URI that results (it will look something like http://mysite.com/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=...).

In your HTML file, replace the reference to FlashMovie.swf with the LinkClick.aspx URI.

While there may be flash-related issues to this method, I suspect that it will work for you (though I've not tested it directly!)

Hope this helps!

Brandon

Gavin,

did you try to include the Flash using the "insert flash" toolbar button of the editor?
