Michael, it sounds as if you're running in integrated pipeline mode. You need to either run the commands that are part of the install instructions (or found in the documentation on http://dnnauthad.codeplex.com) or run the site in the classic pipeline mode (which I'm guessing your 5.4.4 install is doing).

Mike,

thanks for your answer - you were right, it is running in Intergrated mode (and yes, the DNN .4.4 installation is running in classic mode). When switching the AppPool to Classic Mode, I get an HTTP 404 - File or directory not found error.

I ran the two commands from the documentation, but this did not solve the problem. The behaviour is the same as before. Are there issues with .Net 4? Any other idea(s)?

Best wishes
Michael

Another interesint thing is the query string of the login page:

ReturnUrl=%2fDesktopModules%2fAuthenticationServices%2fActiveDirectory%2fWindowsSignin.aspx

In the folder /DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory, there is a web.config file with the following content:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<configuration>
    <location path="WindowsSignin.aspx">
        <system.webServer>
            <security>
                <authentication>
                    <windowsAuthentication enabled="true" />
                    <anonymousAuthentication enabled="false" />
                </authentication>
            </security>
        </system.webServer>
    </location>
</configuration>

Best wishes

Well, after no success and a lost day :-) I decided to uninstall and reinstall the provider. After uninstall, I cleared the cache, stopped the web site, stopped the AppPool, deleted everything under C:\Windows\Microsoft.Net\Framework64\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files and restarted the AppPool and the site. Then I installed and configured the provider the same way I did before - and now it works.

This is a bit of a miracle, but finally I'm happy.

Best wishes
Michael
