I recently stumbled onto this issue of the text body being 'cleansed' to prevent SQL injection and found this thread:

The thread mentions an update where this feature would be made optional.  We are currently running v4.8 and are unable to find this particular option.  Our developers don't really have the necessary time to edit/recompile the code as the workaround suggests, so I thought I'd ask if this has been addressed and where I might find the settings...

I do not experience the issue with latest feedback version (tested in DNN 5.1.0)
