Hi,

I have set up a store and configured it nearly identical to the example. I have given "Edit" Access to a user to administrate the store. The problem is that that user is not able to make changes to the orders status. (i.e. She can not change the orders status from processing to shipping.) However, if I sign in as the portals administrator or host account the dropdown for making this change is available.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug...  fyi. I have tried versions 2.1.0 and 2.1.17 and the results are the same...

Robert

What you described above isn’t possible with current version of store module. If you are able change the code and rebuild, I will put example solution for you here. It’s simple.

I have never done it before, but I believe I have the tools and am willing to give it a shot...

Well, ...

  1. On your dnn portal create new security role “StoreManager”. This role allows non-admin user (from dnn app viewpoint) manage your store module.
  2. In WebControls project locate CustomerOrders control and open CustomerOrders.ascx.cs file. Search for showOrderDetails function and locate the following fragment of code:

    if (UserInfo.IsSuperUser || CheckForAdminRole())
    {

    }
    else
    {

    }

  3. Change if statement condition as follows:

    if (UserInfo.IsSuperUser || CheckForAdminRole() || CheckForStoreManagerRole())

  4. Copy somewhere the following implementation of function CheckForStoreManagerRole:

    private bool CheckForStoreManagerRole()
    {
        DotNetNuke.Security.Roles.RoleController roleController = new DotNetNuke.Security.Roles.RoleController();
        ArrayList roles = roleController.GetUserRolesByRoleName(PortalId, "StoreManager");
        foreach (UserRoleInfo userRoleInfo in roles)
        {
            if (userRoleInfo.UserID == UserId)
            {
                return true;
            }
        }

        return false;
    }

  5. Rebuild, enjoy.
