Although it may not seem like it, we do take all suggestions into consideration. I am not the one who implemented the original ConvertTimeZone function and did assume since I had tried the module on dozens of servers and always saw working results I assumed it was proper. Please do understand that nobody will ever not look into something even though it does appear to be working for us, so to say that we have the attitude 'of it works for me' is not exactly correct although it may appear that way.

Well seeing all the arguing is interesting. I have two websites, one on DNN3, one on DNN4. The times work fine for me. This is how I have it configured:-

  • Site Settings - set to my time - UTC 00:00 - I think this is irrelevant.
  • Forum TimeZone - set to server time - UTC -08:00
  • User Time Zones enabled
  • User Time Zone - set to my time - UTC 00:00

I guess the point that everyone seems to miss, is that the forum timezone needs to be set to the same as the server time. My server is with webhost4life which I guess is west coast US, i.e. UTC-8.

This is running fine on code based on 03.20.01. I don't believe I've changed anything in the code on time zones.

Hope this helps
Roger

I thought I had this worked out but unfortunately that wasn't the case.

On the Forum Main Page (once logged in) the date/time is displayed correctly but navigating down to the actual post the date/time displayed is server/forum time and since the server time and forum time have to be set  to the same time zone I'm stuck.

I tried to post a screenshot to show what I'm talking about but haven't got the right permissions.

Thanks in advance for your replies

Leif
