The issue has only just become 100% clear in the last few hours.

I know nothing is decided yet and I know all options are on the table.... debate is only starting to happen internally on how it should be resolved now we have full confirmation. It will probably take at least a few days to get some clarity.... I know you can't wait (and for good reason), but please watch the Gemini issue resolve itself..... it's still early days.

Don't read into anything into anybodies comments as to how the issue will be resolved right now until a decision is made.

Just keep your eyes peeled on the Gemini issue for clarification.

Ok, thanks for the update Alex.

Just for the record - it's not just HTML/Text mods, I think it is any module that uses caching.

I am going to run a script to set all my cached modules to a cache time of 3  seconds. I need to keep them separate so I can change them back later (hence a random figure so I know which ones they were) and a cache time of 0 would prob. bring my site to it's knees. I am hoping a cache time of 3 would be a good compromise between performance (under the cirumstances) and the random times that spiders crawl my site. It will take a few days for Google to update it's cache but hopefully this will be a quick fix for now.

Here is the script I used if anyone wants to use it - be careful and please make sure you know what you are doing and understand the consequences of changing module cache times (this is for all portals).

update TabModules
set cachetime = 3
where cachetime > 0

It will be a few days before I can confirm if this makes any difference in Google but I need to fix it ASAP as it's costing me a fortune in lost traffic/PR.

Rodney,

as far as I understand from internal discussions, this subject is still under investigation and decisions will be made according to the results and the impact. Please grant necessary time to the persons in charge, and thank you for your contribution.

Yesterday went I visit your home page cache page and it seems fine (cached on 21 July)...now blank again. (cached on 22.)

For the html module, it seems that the Old module are malfunctioning that may due to the database do not get updated properly. I deleted the old html module and add a new one back with same content and it started to generate cache content properly again. (before that, nothing from the module in portals/x/cache).

Thanks,
George

This in only my second post so I'm probably puting this in the wrong place but I have info that may be valuable.

I'm on 4.9.4 and have 2 URL's pointing to 1 portal ...  one is affected and on is not.

The portal is one of several on a single installation.
