Do you know the truth when you hear it?

I get this error:

 "A critical error has occurred.
The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters."

When I inset a text/html module, then use the little carrot/triangle to edit. When I click on the carrot I get the above error. I am not even trying to do any image manupation just trying to use that module. As suggested in an earlier post.

I need a DotNetNuke for dummies, but it says the book is not due out until this summer.

You don't need to click the action menu icon. Simply mouse over it. When the menu pops up, click the Edit Text option. Alternatively, you should also have a pencil icon with the same text in the footer of the module, depending on the container you're using.

I'm working on a site for a large intranet and came up with a similar error
- The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters."

I think it means the url path is too long - is that possible? They had HUGE LONG NAMES on the files and directories.

Have you looked to see if the file name is very long?

Just a thought since I ran into this issue a few days ago.
