Can you put in the name of the icon / image you're trying to use and the folder it's sitting in - eg.. have you got a specific folder it's sitting in?

I'm only coming up with suggestions so we can help you resolve this problem which we're not able to repeat but obviously there is something that needs fixing.

Sebastian,
Yeah, I realized that after thinking about the dependancy on the editor. My first thought was that the problem was with the path to the module directory, which is why I suggested trying UDT - "UserDefinedTable" is longer than "HTML". I wasn't sure whether access to files would be an issue or not, but I do know that some of those long paths are being used (namely, static content).

Nina, I think this is a problem with new Text/HTML instances, which means there isn't a file that is explicitly being accessed by the user. The error's just coming back from .NET. It either has to be with the module or editor, as far as I can see. Am I correct in this, Trisha? If not, Nina does bring up a good point. Can you get to the database and paste the contents of the module here? Seeing the HTML might help us figure out what the problem is - it might be a problem with the current content, assuming the problem isn't on a new instance of the module.

Also, instead of testing UDT, try testing another module that uses the HTML editor provider. Try the FAQ module. Just add it to a page and edit it. Let us know if you get the same error.

One other thing: Are you using the default editor? I've been assuming you are, but I should probably ask.

Hi,

I am so thrilled that there are great people to help me with this. BTW, it also thrills my boss. I will try it with the FAQ module as I already have that installed and had planned on using it in several areas.

I tried to take screen shots of my directory and the way the errors apprear but this forum said I did not have permissions to do so. If you like I can directly email them.

In the meantime I will try the FAQ.

Thanks again, I owe you guys a coke.

-Trisha

Well aren't you a smart cookie? The FAQ gives me the exact same error message when I try to use it. I can add it to a pane, but that is the extent of which I can use it. When I got to "add" it gives me the exact error message.

"A critical error has occurred. The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters."
