Valerio,
Make sure the section in your web.config looks EXACTLY like I pasted above.  Please note that the value is case-sensitive so it must be set to "Off"  not "off" or "OFF".   If you set it exactly as I described, you will see a detailed error message which will tell you what's wrong.   If you do not, then the file you are changing is not in the web site folder you are browsing to with your browser.  Take a look at your address bar to verify the URL of your web site, then use your web host control panel to verify that that URL is pointing to the right folder on your host machine.

I'm very frustrated:

my web.config in web.config reports:

--->

<configuration>

<customErrors>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="Off"/>
    </system.web>

</customErrors>

  <!-- register local configuration handlers -->
  <configSections>
    <sectionGroup name="dotnetnuke">
      <!-- the requirePermission attribute will cause a syntax warning - please ignore - it is required for Medium Trust support-->
      <section name="data" requirePermission="false" type="DotNetNuke.Framework.Providers.ProviderConfigurationHandler, DotNetNuke" />
      <section name="logging" requirePermission="false" type="DotNetNuke.Framework.Providers.ProviderConfigurationHandler, DotNetNuke" />
...

-->

I've a dubt: probably my web.config is not read by server, the errors is "BEFORE"...

the errors is:

Server Error in '/' Application.

and, I suppose, the error is in "root" application.

Then the web.config is not read and... the error is before...

Thanks for Your patience.
