Hi, I skinned my first DNN site and I like the results.  Everything went smoothly except for the horizontal navigation menu.  I have it looking and working how I want it to, the only problem I am having is sometimes the sub-menu expands upwards (depending on how much room it has to expand below).  This is a problem because of a flash rotating banner above it, causing the sub-menu to disappear behind the flash.  Anyone know how to disable the menus ability from expanding upwards?  Here is a link to my test site..

THank you!

You need to set the WMode of the flash to either "Opaque" or "Transparent" - This will stop the menu from disappearing behind the flash.

I tested your site in Firefox 3.0.13,and the menu drops as expected, downwards not upwards...  I also tested in Chrome, IE7, Safari and Opera - all cool. What browser are you previewing your site in..?

Thanks for the response Jon.  For clarification, the header is using flash, so setting wmode is not a solution.  The real problem, is the fact the menu expands upward.  In order to get it to do so, there has to be a limited amount of space below the menu for it to expand.  If you shrink your browser window so that the menu has no room to expand down, it will expand upwards but it does it behind the javascript.  The 'About us' menu item, and Services menu item, have a good size sub-menu drop down.  So try mousing over them with a shrunken browser window and you will see what I mean.

I just want to disable to automatical upward expansion completely, and have it expand down all the time.  Any way to edit the DNN menu code to do so?

Thanks,

Nick

To solve the flash appearing above the submenu (essentially hiding the submenu), use: <param name="wmode" value="opaque" /> for the flash.

I have seen the menu anomaly before, but always figured it to be a js browser bug.  Its never really given me hassles...  What version of DNN are you using - looks like 5.0..?
