I am install dotnetnuke05.01.01 on local computer  with windows XP and .net3.5sp1 and iis 5.1 the error is created

who one can help me ?

In my case I tried to install it on windows 7. And this issue seems to be security related. I noticed no pictures were shown as well. needed to take a look a anonymous user which is used. which is now set to applicationpool identity. That solved it in windows 7.

But in general it seemed to be a security issue

So what exactly did you do to get it to work on Windows 7

I am running Windows 7(x64), DNN 5.1.2, and SQL 2005

I have used IUsr as well as creating a user for Anonymous

I have given IUsr 'Full Control' on directory
 

I even gave IUsr 'Full Control' of both %System Root%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files and %System Root%\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files
 

I have tried 'ApplicationPoolIdentity' for Anonymous
 

I have changed 'DefaultAppPool' to use 'Network Service' vs. 'Application Pool Identity'
 

I still get the...

System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> System.ArgumentException: Invalid JSON primitive: . at ... Error

 

I can't see the images either.

I installed with no problem on my Production Server running Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008.
