Hi

I dotn have a life site at the moment but when it goes life i paste the url. about 80% of my work now is openwebstudio. I maily use it as frontend for dnn modules with crappy html output ( link events etc ) I use the databases of these modules but i use ows for the disply part so i have exact control what I want to ouput.

this is a walkthough movie of an ows frontend for catalook using a jquery accordion and by using catalooks direct buy feature the store is fully working as you can see from the cart modue ( which is original catalook but could be made using ows

Very poor documentation. I am newbie to OWS and I want to learn to use it. However, it seem that I have to give up.

I think most of us agree there is poor documentation, and I know I've complained quite a bit about this to the guys at r2i.

That said, if you follow those steps and don't expect to be spoon fed (though would be nice) every bit of OWS... it's not so bad to get going and I think before too long you'd probably see OWS as the tool of choice with almost anything custom.

I would hightly recommend the DNN creative tutorials - you have to subscribe, but the OWS tutorials alone are worth the subscription and it costs less than ListX did before they changed the license to GNU.  I was using ListX for a year or so before OWS came out after struggling for months with the documentation.  I even re-wrote much of the manual just so I could decipher what they were trying to say.  The R2i people write very good software, but are not so good int he documentaton department. The ListX and OWS interface is radically different, but most of the inner workings are the same as ListX.

New to OWS and never used ListX.  Thanks a ton Adam, exactly what I needed.  I viewed the videos at R12 and I am going through DNN Creative for more info but the one item I needed was the ListX Documentation.  The syntax for various OWS specific items is a huge help.  Agreed that the OWS docs are needing some help, this is a very robust FREE product.

Thanks to this post and the community supporting OWS, I feel comformtable getting into this sweet tool.

-Jeff
