Ok first you have to download an install the latest BETA release of the links module :

http://dnnlinks.codeplex.com/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=34444

In the settings view choose the option: Link Mode > Folder

Select the a folder within your dnn website to be displayed. Alle known file types (by dnn) will automatically display a file icon in front of the link.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Jo

Thank you – that worked.

I now have the following questions relating to the Link Mode > Folder feature though:

1. Is it possible to remove/hide the file extensions from view?
ie. a link to a file/document is displayed as: (icon) Microsoft-Word-Document.doc
I’d like it to display without the file extension: (icon) Microsoft-Word-Document

2. Is it possible to display the ‘file size’ next to file name (rather than being displayed on the mouse-over).
ie. (icon) Microsoft-Word-Document 245kb

Thank you

Unfortunately this is not possible without modifying the source code of the module.

Maybe it will be in further releases down the road.

Is there a simple way to remove the display of the ‘file extension’ through modifying the source code of the module?
I have no experience editing module source code (only html/css etc) so any help would be appreciated.

Thank you
