Hi Everyone,

My name is Patrick Driscoll. I've been working with DNN since its early betas, and have been nothing but impressed with the project. Through my career as a programmer, I've amassed a lot of knowledge around building modules quickly. The DNNBuilda project represents an effort to help other developers by sharing what I've learned with the community.

What DNNBuilda does:

  • Generates complete, working code for the presentation layer, business layer and data layer
  • Generates the manifest file and installation scripts
  • Optionally generates the SQL objects directly on your development server
  • Can import its data from an existing SQL table
  • Uses dynamically compiled templates for each section of code, for maximum flexibility

You can download the source or install for DNNBuilda from CodePlex, here:
http://dnnbuilda.codeplex.com/

Or alternately from SourceForge, here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/dnnbuilda/

Finally, here's a demo video showcasing the program in action:

Thanks,

Patrick

Moderators - Is there any way to embed a YouTube video on the forum? My first try worked in the preview, but was removed when the post went live.

great and useful, thanks! I suggest you to add in the future version the .sln file of generated module source. I hope this project go forward with additions and improvements!

Thanks Scippy One. I'm trying to figure out the best way to fully demo the way DNNBuilda was intended to be used. When I prototype, I just start creating files directly within a .NET website in visual studio. Would the .sln file be more useful for a compiled module, or is that just your preference.
