Version 0.0.0.4 has just been released - it addresses .3's issue of only generating one file.

Patrick,

I'd like to thank you for your contribution, it's a great project and I'm excited to see how it develops. Could I suggest that youadd a dropdown to allow creation of templates that are valid for 4x. and 5.x, to allow developers to select versions that generate features added in more recent versions e.g. we added BaseEntityInfo in 5.1, it would be great to be able to easily generate DAL classes that implement this pattern (I might be able to help with these templates once I have time free)

I recently showed the tool to some friends who are c# developers coming to DotNetNuke for the first time and they found it not only a great productivty tool (as they don't know vb.net well), but also a great learning tool as they were able to start with simple schemas and study the outputted code to get a feel for the standard patterns we use)

Thanks,

Cathal

What a great idea! I think I can do that by adding more attributes to the template xml file.

We can have nodes for the dnn version and also individual output languages. I'll put additional dropdowns in for those attributes.

Hi Patrick,

Not a coder but work alot with DNN. Just wondering if what you have created can be imbeded in some way - maybe it is now - to help move dnn closer to a Platform as a Service model? This becomes a way that a user can enage with the framework without having to us visual studio...

Just trying to get my arms around it. I know this will be helpful for us.

thanks!

Clint,

At some point, I'm sure that the same functionality could be embedded within a DNN module to provide basic modules, but that's a ways away. Excellent idea - I'll keep it in mind as the project matures.

Patrick
