I had DNN 04.09.04 installed with the language set to English (United Kingdon) , en-GB. I have made use of the 'built-in' documents module and the form and list module. Both were displaying dates in the desired format, DD/MM/YYYY.

Since upgrading to DNN 5.1.1 the dates are now being displayed in US format i.e. MM/DD/YYYY. I have checked the language settings for my portal and the language is still set to English (United Kingdom). I have also checked the globalization settings in my web.config are set correctly, which they are:

<

globalization culture="en-GB" uiCulture="en" requestEncoding="UTF-8" responseEncoding="UTF-8" fileEncoding="UTF-8"/>

Also my browser has been set to use en-GB. I am not sure where else to look, can anyone help??

make sure, en-GB is properly enabled in Admin :: languages (select "English (UK)" in dropdown and click edit beneath) and make sure, it is also sected in your personal user profile.

Thanks Sebastian, that worked a treat.

I had exactly the same problem today...  I found out that GB-US language had been added to my GB-UK language and was enabled.  It overrides the GB-UK setting and the only way of solving the problem is to edit it and disable it. Then everything returns to normal...  The pound sign comes back and the Dollar sign disappears.

Great!
