The issue is that info.dotnetnuke.com doesn't authenticate, so there's no way to get the profile of an existing member of the DotNetNuke web site.  So they require these fields be filled out before the guide can be downloaded, which builds their sales contact database.  This is annoying as is, but extra annoying when it links to a page where users must be logged in to download the software the guide concerns.

Of course, the DNN profile isn't much help to marketing, it wasn't developed as a marketing database, so there are a bazillion user accounts that to the marketing department are generally worthless.
