I am helping a friend's company with DNN-based website.  They are looking to make the site appear more professional and want to add video to a few places on the site.  I'm a pretty technologically apt guy but my html/website experience is pretty nonexistant.

We are hoping to add a few presentation-style videos (in a youtube or similar like form) and adding some video component to banners at the top of the webpage.  We already have video to put up but are looking for the best module for our situation.  At the moment there is a rotating picure module we use to have new words pop up on the same basic image every couple seconds.

Its a small company, so budget is a little tight, does anyone know a reliable video module for adding video in these two forms?

it depends on the size of the videos and the hosting situation, which solution will suit best.

if files are small and can be run from the site, you may use the Media module, packaged with DNN. Other modules are available from www.inventua.com.

For large files, you need a media server, i.e. Media services for IIS 6 or 7, if you are running on your own server.

I second the recomendation for Inventua.com if you are just doing a "sprinkling" of videos.
If you can convert all your vids to flash you could also use the default Text/HTML module to embed flash.

Check out snowcovered.com. Some of the modules are based on Silverlight if Flash is a requirement.

If you are interested in streaming flash video (flv files), let me know. We run Flash Media Interactive Server (FMIS) and can remotely host your videos on it while leaving your site wherever it is.

While Media Services on IIS6+ is good for pushing video through Silverlight, FMIS lets you do it through Flash. Some modules that are FMIS-aware are Ultra Video Gallery and Ultra Flash Player, to name a few.

We also have a custom dev of Ultra Video Gallery. AMong other things, it recognizes chapters or bookmarks in a video for moving immedialtely to any nav point within a video. The chapters are displayed in a dropdown menu within the flash video player, as well as displayed throughout the UVG interface for direct linking.
