I am running DNN 5.1.2.  When I delete a user, their username does not get deleted from the database.  So it won't let me register a new user with a username which has been deleted before.  Senerio:

1.  Someone registers with username "testuser"

2.  Later on, I delete the user as an administrator.

3.  Somebody else tries to register with username "testuser" but they can't becasue it says the username "testuser" is still being used.

Is there a way to remove everything associated with a username after they are unregistered so it looks like they never registered with that username before?

Thanks.

unfortunately the soft-delete immplementation still lacks some features like an admin option to erase a deleted user or re-animate the account.

Is it possible to delete the user using SQL?

I believe there might be a bug here. In my testing, I found that if I registered with a given Username, authorized it,  logged in (may not be necessary), then deleted it, I could then register again using the same Username.

However, if I register with a Username, and while it is still waiting for authorization I delete it, then the Username is no longer available for use.

I just tested this again on my sandbox site, running 5.1.2.
