I want to customize the text (copy) on the registration page for a specific portal.

Currently it reads: 'Membership to this site is Public. Once your account information has been submitted, you will be immediately granted access to the site's special select features.'

The above is referenced in the: /App_GlobalResources/SharedResources.resx file.

I see that I could likely simply edit the reference but isn't this file a global attribute?

How can I implement a custom message specific to a portal? Something that will allow verbage to this affect: 'Membership to OURCOMPANY site is the most wonderful experience you will likely ever encounter...blah..blah..blah' .

Resolved:

MESSAGE_REGISTRATION_INSTRUCTIONS.Text (page 10 in my setup)
was blank by default.. enter your text .. simple

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe once you edit  an item (input into blank or edit defaults) a subfile is created which is an effective subsidiary of the GlobalResources.resx located in the /App_GlobalResources folder off the root..this new file is named GlobalResources.Portal-1.resx where '1' is the portal id.

Now the above edit seemed to add to the existing default copy to the registration page once rendered (referenced by PublicMembership.Text in the /App_GlobalResources/SharedResources.resx file.
I then removed that copy from the PublicMembership.Text in the /App_GlobalResources/SharedResources.resx by clearing the value. Caution: that makes it no linger available for any portals .. you are forced to include your custom copy to each portal, for me that's fine.
