Doctype is a Host Setting (towards the top when first loaded). It is also possible to do it using an xml file with your skin package.

 ok,

I will keep trying to fix this. All I know is that right side was transparent with the original skin as well and did not look right then either.

Maybe I could have you take a look at my files sometime by accessing my ftp server? I am just getting frustrated now with something that should be simple and it is probably something simple I am missing here.

ok, I have exhausted everything and tried different doc types with same results.

would someone be willing to look at my files as I feel like I have done everything right to fix the right side of the forums look and all I can get is an invisible back ground.

thanks again for the help,

Mike

Hi Mike,

I am trying to work on css for forum as well and somewhat new to this. I'm just guessing here, but I noticed in your included css that there was only 5 digits in your color codes for the Thread (alt), Post (alt), and Last Post (alt) columns versus 3 or 6. Could this be it?

background-color: #1E1E1; should it be background-color: #1E1E1E;   ?

I went into my actual css file and I have all 6 characters in there for the color.

I have everything Like I think it should be. Just does not work. It is always transparent and shows the containers backgraound color.
