Jan,

Everything is tested.  Some things are tested more thoroughly than others.  In this case, because the Telerik Partnership was finalized very late in the 5.2 development cycle, we did not have time to get the skin-object in the earlier public betas so that it had wider testing prior to the initial release.  However, we did not want to hold it since it is currently the only visible sign that Telerik is included in DotNetNuke CE.  In our 5.3 release and beyond we will be working to provide deeper Telerik integration with many more wrappers that will be freely useable by other skin designers and module developers.

Joe,

The first impression is the most important impression. I can live with bugs but I asume your target is not me:)

Jan,

As every developer understands, each release of a software product is a balancing act.  As Jeffrey Snover from Microsoft likes to say "To ship is to choose".  You can always do more testing and fix more bugs, but eventually someone has to make the decision to ship the product.  This means some parts of the software will not get as much testing as you would like, or you will not fix every bug that you would like.  Different people will obviously make different decisions regarding when to ship.  These decisions are sometimes technology driven, and sometimes driven by business realities, but the bottom line is that ultimately you need to get the product out the door and into the users hands.

We always strive to do a great job on every release, but like every person on the planet, we often fall short of perfection.  One area we are focusing on this year is improving our processes so that our quality level is more consistent.  This means having more repeatable processes in how we conduct testing and having a greater internal testing capability.  Over time I expect this to show up in drastically improved releases.

Joe,

Sure, I have not the whole picture I just telling you what I see.

Two advice. Let the RC be avialable for beta testers. Don't add functionality to the RC.

Test in interantional enviorment.
