My host password is gone... long story.

How do I reset this or just clear it out?

THanks

That long story bit - I wonder if I've got the same one to share with you... You can get involved in changing a number of tables in the aspnet membership area, but the quickest way I got out of something embarrassingly similar was to create a new portal, then import everything except the users. I then had to use a third party tool to bring the users back into the account.

One has to be creative at times when we've decided to go down that.. Long store path.

create a new user

visit the aspnet_membership table and copy the password and password salt info into the host account (you can hopefully tell which is which by email address)
-- hopefully your host allows you enterprise manager access or query analyzer access

then go log in as host and reset any other passwords as necessary.  I hope you don't have a thousand users to fix.
:)
