Hello,

Yes the current version of Solpart that ships with DNN will break. If you've build your skins especially for IE in quirks mode then it may affect some layouts as well, but if your skins work fine in Firefox then everything else will work without any problems.

I seem to recall reading in this forum somewhere that there is a new version of Solpart that fixes this problem, but I haven't installed it to try it out. - You could have a look on www.solpart.com to see if it is available from there, or have a look for any posts by Jon Henning to find the details. - I think the fix might even be included in 3.2.3 when it is released.

Thanks,

I finally found the source of the problem, but am at a loss to explain why it happens.  My skin had divs nested within containing divs, the all-encompassing div ID is  #wrapper_page, and each major section has its own div "container"
.the section with the logo is ID'd as  #wrapper_site_id, the main body where the containers will go is ID'd as #wrapper_content. etc..  Oddly enough, applying  "position:relative" to the #wrapper_content div in the style sheet caused this behavior. Once I removed it, normal behaviour resumed.

JMitchell, thanks for the offer to take a look at it.  Although my major dilemma is resolved, any other suggestions that you may have, should you be so inclined, would be appreciated.

It must be something in the spmenu.js file because it also happens when you hover over the main menu, stry enough it is only in admin mode like you mentioned though.

I think Jon Henning had put some code in there to repostion the Solpart menu if it was in a relative or absolutlely positioned DIV, but I haven't had the time to track it down yet.

And it doesn't explain why it happens only in admin mode, unless maybe this code only gets added to the JS DOM when the action menu is in the picture.

I'm glad you figured out where it was in your CSS, but this shouldn't be happening.

Hi Empulse
Did you solve the problem or not?
I have been working on a table less container (it works okay) and was wondering if you ever solved the problems you discribed...
