 Rodney,

I apologize for the misleading UI, "enabled" refers to the currently selected language for the current portal and is NOT related to fallback language.

Fallback language has never been designed to be part of the UI, currently en-US needs to have no fallback language, while all others need to use en-US as fallback.

Ok, I understand my confusion now - when I load up en-GB Fallback Language shows en-US on the UI. I thought the checkbox was for enabling the fallback language but it is just a UI thing.

So... I think I have it set up fine - only en-GB has the fallback language enabled and I can see both in dropdown lists. BUT it's not picking up that file of localized profile properties...

Any other suggestions please?

<edit - I just saw your post above ;)  >

yes, your settings are now as expected.

I haven't tested localization in DNN 5.2 and suspended creating German language packs, due to known issues.

No worries, thanks for the suggestions anyway (at least I understand it better now!).

It looks like I have found the problem:

In 4.x the profile properties were stored in:

\admin\Users\App_LocalResources\Profile.ascx..resx

BUT in 5.x... they seem to have moved to:

\DesktopModules\Admin\Security\App_LocalResources\Profile.ascx..resx

I copied my  portal-specific files from the old to the new and now they work...

Hmm, these files should have been copied over automatically as well during the upgrade procedure. Thank you for sharing your findings.
