I recently upgraded a client of mine from 4.4.0 to 5.2.2 and noticed something funky in a custom module I've written for them that utilizes the DotNetNuke.Common.Lists for handling Country and State/Province/Region selection. I was utilizing the overloaded method GetListEntryInfo() of the DotNetNuke.Common.Lists.ListController object that has parameters for ListName, Value, and ParentKey (which according to Intellisense is now deprecated.) I was using this to pull a Region and to ensure it was a region from the selected Country list object parent. This "appeared" to work before, although since there were only Region entries for US and CA with no overlap perhaps I was just fooled. However, now that there are way more Region entries in the Lists table I'm getting incorrect entries using this method (for example, when I attempt to look up PA for the US, I'm getting Para in Brazil instead of Pennsylvania.) Since this method is deprecated, is there a better way for retrieving this data? I'm sorry if this was already covered in the forums, but I was unable to search and have no idea what version this originally changed. I've coded an inelegant workaround by looping through a collection so no rush, and thanks in advance for any info you can provide!
