Hi,

I have two questions:

1.) User friendly URLs

Lets say we have the new tab (page) Test. Then the userfriendly url from DNN would be something like http://something.com/Test/tabid/53/Default.aspx. Is there a possibility to remove the /tabid/53/Default.aspx or at least /tabid/53/ ?

2.) Url rewriter

I want to migrate a site to DNN. After migration all old links won't work any more. Can I write a Url rewriter, which gets the url BEFOR DNN and checks if it is one of the old urls; if yes, then I change it (according to a conversion table that I have to have) the old url to the new url? If I can make such tool, where should I put it (codewise)?

Thanks alot, Rainer.

Rainer,

1) Pages in DNN are identified by tabid and www.something.com/Test/tabid/53/Default.aspx is just a rewrite of www.something.com/Default.aspx?tabid=53

you can omit the /test, but not the tabID. There is a moule at www.inventua.com called hrefxchanger, that has additional options.

2) there are various options to do this either inside or outside DNN. You can replace the error page by a custom solution, that transfers according to the URL to dnn with the proper parameters.
