I'm very new to dotNetNuke and I have a question about the best way to do something.  I'm using a skin with a Logo.  The logo is a banner at the very top of the page.   I need to specify a different banner for each web page.  I know I can do this by having a different skin for each page and hard-coding the logo in the DNN file but I was wondering if there was a better way to do this.

Thanks in advance.

Sue

That is the way you would have to go about it - or use a pane - and add the text html module with a hyperlink to the front page.

What I sometimes do too is just create a different header for each skin - it shouldn't take you that long when you're getting into it, I mean if you're using an image - you just change the name of it.. .. and then I use a clear.gif logo - so it's a transparent logo over different pages..so I add that clear.gif image to the admin/settings page and then it links automatically.

What do you think about that idea?  I think that's a cleaner solution than a fiddly module myself.

And there are some things that just take time - no matter how we try to go about it.

If you want to the image to be driven by the Name or ID of the active page you can use something like this:

<img src="<%= SkinPath & PortalSettings.ActiveTab.TabName %>_Banner.jpg" />

Then put images in your skin folder to match all of your page names with "_Banner.jpg" (or whatever) as a suffix.

You could also do it as a background image. You can read more about this techinique here:
