Hi all

I've installed DNN on my laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate. The main portal site in DNN runs as http://localhost/perkins with a physical path of E:\The Projects\perkins\nuked\perkins. "perkins" is a virtual folder in IIS under the DNN site which is called "perkins_nukled" in IIS and poinst to E:\The Projects\perkins\nuked.

I logged onto the admin site with host account to add another portal site, which I called "perknet". When navigating to the new site which DNN said should be http://localhost/perknet, it failed with a 404 error. Error page displayes path as E:\The Projects\perkins\nuked\perknet but this has not been created. The new "perknet" virtual folder has also not been created in IIS. Am I correct in expecting the DNN portal wizard to set this all up or am I supposed to create these manually?

I can see a new folder created under the portals folder for the new portalid - what links this to the missing virtual folder in IIS? Not sure how this is meant to fit together...?

Any ideas?

Cheers
Neville

In order to Create a new portal

1.Add another portal site from host account and named it "perknet".

2.Create manulally the New virtual directory in the IIs  Named as"perknet" and point it to the same Location i.e at  E:\The Projects\perkins\nuked.

3.Now access the new portal with the http://localhost/perknet

Hope it helps!
